Roll Gear partnered with SDS to develop military-inspired designs for their Jiu-Jitsu apparel—blending performance gear with authentic service-driven visuals.
Summary
Roll Gear is a Jiu-Jitsu apparel brand creating rash guards and training gear for practitioners of all levels. With roots in military service, the brand also offers a dedicated line for veterans. I was brought on to design assets and apparel concepts for their Army-inspired collection.
Challenge
The challenge was to create designs that stayed true to Roll Gear’s brand while accurately reflecting U.S. Army aesthetics. This required careful attention to patterns, details, and visual language to ensure authenticity without compromising design appeal.
Solutions
I developed custom rash guard designs, patches, textures, and visual mockups—combining military-inspired elements with a clean, wearable aesthetic. The result was a cohesive collection that felt both authentic and aligned with the brand’s identity.
